Çok eski zamanlardan beri et, insan diyetinin temel bir parçası olmuştur ve birçok medeniyette temel kaynaklar arasında halen yer almaktadır. Farklı ülkeler ve kültürler arasında tüketilen et miktarı ve kaynağı farklılık gösterse de et çoğu batı diyetinde birincil bileşen olarak kalmakta ve genellikle sebze garnitürleri ile birlikte sunulmaktadır. Ayrıca et, Türkiye'de gastronomik geleneklerin, kutlamaların veya etkinliklerin bir parçası olarak önemli bir faktör olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Etin biyolojik değerlerinin yanında duyusal bileşenleri de oldukça fazla miktarda bulundurması tüketicilerin tercih sebepleri arasında yer almaktadır Et, tüm gerekli amino asitleri ve birçok vitamin (B vitaminleri, özellikle B12) ve mineral (çinko, demir gibi) sağlayan beslenme açısından mükemmel bir gıdadır. Vücutta kas sentezi ve bakımı için destek sağlar, bu da hem fiziksel işlev hem de metabolik sağlık için önemlidir. Et ayrıca taurin, kreatin, hidroksiprolin, karnosin ve anserin gibi önemli biyolojik aktif bileşenleri de içermektedir. Et tüketimini etkileyen faktörlerin karmaşık etkileşimi göz önüne alındığında, bu çalışma, Türkiye'de et tüketimini makine öğrenimi algoritmaları kullanarak tahmin etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. 1990-2023 yılları arasındaki Gayrisafi Yurt İçi Hasıla (GSYİH), et üretimi, et fiyatları, yem fiyatları, tarımsal GSYİH, nüfus, ithalat ve ihracat verileri, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, Support Vector Machine, AdaBoost, Neural Network ve Linear Regression modelleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Sonuçlar, Gradient Boosting ve AdaBoost algoritmalarının en doğru tahminleri sağladığını ve tarımsal GSYİH, et üretimi ve nüfus verilerinin, et tüketimini tahmin etmede önemli olduğunu göstermektedir.
